Disappointed

Today Satan hit hard and he won. I lost my temper and had my own childish meltdown at my kids. Now they are in school and I am trying to regroup and change (repent) enough to be able to make peace once more in my home when they come home.

The worst part about all of this is that I know better - so much better. It kills me that I can let this happen after knowing and learning all I did from the Spirit about home and how a home can and SHOULD feel.

Disappointed in my kids and even way more disappointed in myself -- the 35 year old who had a temper tantrum today. Thankfully the Savior has made repentance possible. I owe Him .... everything.

Been there, done that, too. You're not alone, and yes, what would we do without the atonement.

Be gentle with yourself. It happens to the best of us.

You can apologize and love them up when they get home.

stephanie, we have all been there.. noone is perfect except one. we have all been blessed with unconditional love. when your girls get home hug them and let them know just how much you love them :) and dont be so hard on yourself. :(

Any mother has had days like this. That is what's so wonderful about little children. They forgive easily and give us lots and lots of chances.

Don't worry, Stephanie. I had the exact same problem today. It must be hormone-related since we are both about at the same point in our pregnancies. For that matter, I have related to every pregnancy-related post you've written as well. You are not alone. I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day.
Love Ya!

. . . and your children have been graced with an opportunity to see the power of forgiveness.

You are human, it happens. Forgive yourself, apologize and move on. Your kids love you. They need to know everyone has limits.......even mom. You are doing a great job with them, keep moving forward.

I have just come downstairs feeling so cross and disappointed with myself, for the same reason - having a tantrum in front of the kids....I even jumped up and down and stamped my feet. And then I read your post.... yikes... I will do better tomorrow. And so will you.

Love,

Jane

If the problem persists, take something off of your permanent to do list and read a book or take a tap instead. :) Satan wears on the weary.

Oh Stephanie! I LOVED this post because the exact same thing happened to me today. Mom had a MAJOR tantrum and even threw a hair brush on the floor that broke in pieces. I felt oh so rediculous but couldn't stop the anger inside. Thank heavens for forgiving children and a chance to make ammends. I love your blog and your sweet little family.
