A New Favorite Treat

We went to the Bouchon the other night to enjoy great food with good company and the incredible hospitality of the staff there and our friend Chris who is the pastry chef. As always we had amazing food. But the real treat here is always the dessert course.

Chris has been working on an idea he had a couple of years ago. Remember push up pops? The sherbet pops that you push up and eat? I loved those things growing up. Well Chris wanted to make his own version of it. It took 2 years to perfect the production but what we ate last Friday night was pretty much perfection in my book.
These are made with homemade frozen yogurt made from homemade yogurt and blackberry sorbet. The yogurt was better than most ice creams I have had and I am kind of a connoisseur of ice cream. ;) The berry sorbet brought the right pop of flavor and the whole thing ate clean.

It was such a fun dessert and incredibly tasty. I have been craving one since that night. Seriously I wish I could pick these up in my grocery store. I think I may have to add them to my favorite desserts list. Chris's creations keep adding to the list.

Sounds delish and the presentation is awesome as well. Is there a chance they would sell them as "take-out"?

I might just have gained a pound or two by staring at em.

You seem not to care as much about the new baby as you do your other children. The big long post about your daughter's baptism, and very little about Noble's blessing. No photos of him on his special day? Just a view from the outside looking in!!!

You know anon. You are totally right. I can't believe you don't post more about your other kids. I mean don't you think they are just as important? Honestly. And really. You never post about husband. Don't you love him? And your mom. You never post about her. She is the one who birthed you. And your dad? I mean come on. And Obama. You know. He is the best thing for this country since sliced bread. Just a view from the outside looking in.

The judgemental & hurtful nature of some posts leaves such sadness in my heart.

In my humble opinion, Saby's baptism got the singular attention it so justly deserved just as I am sure baby Noble's blessing will. However, such negative comments will now make it look forced to some and tarnish what otherwise is a momentous & blessed moment in the lives of the Waite family. That is truly sad. :(

Stephanie, I am not too familiar with LDS baby blessings as you probably know. You made mention of writing "furiously" during Noble's and, in the past, recounted that a certain part of Camille's blessing had rested a bit uneasily on your mind. I hope I am not being inappropriately bold here by asking you to share the process with us. Can I assume the blessing is prompted by the Spirit through Jon's heart and not something previously prepared?

Please, fellow posters, be gentle with ourselves and with each other.

My newest goal is to learn from Saby's baptismal post and try my very best to emulate the meekness, purity, obedience and humility of a child.

My heart tells me that is it a noble goal.

Much love 'n hugs,
Kathryn_m

Stephanie,
You write a beautiful blog and anyone who takes the time to read it knows how you document each of your family members with love!! I wish I could delete for you, Stephanie, so that you would not be hurt by such mean spirited comments.

That sounds so delicious. I would love one right now. I used to love those push up sherbet pops as a kid.

Stephanie,
I have never commented before, but wanted to let you know that your blog is an inspiration. I have always thought it amazing how you can make each of your children seem so special and important, as if they are your only child. As with the baptism or the lost tooth, or the playing beauty salon. You seem so proud and interested in each child individually which is wonderful. I often have "mom guilt" that I don't do enough with each child seperately or celebrate each individual child and I think you are wonderful at that. Congrats on both Sabrina's baptism and Noble's blessing.

How right you are anonymous post #12 -- Granted, many of Steph's posts make my favorite list but this year's anniversary post dedicated to Jonathon and their boundless loves rates right up there for me.

My Favorite post... Saying Goodbye. Little Noble reaching and holding onto Stephanie's Camille necklace. The beautiful and profound thoughts of the two of them together. Takes my breath away.
